F.A.Q

IS CLC CELLULAR LIGHT WEIGHT CONCRETE BLOCK SIMILAR TO AAC BLOCK ?

No. Even though they appear to be similar, They are totally different products. Water Absorbtion of AAC is 200% More than that of CLC blocks. Broken blocks of CLC can be used for Sunken Filling but due to more water absorbtion in AAC it should be avoided. The CLC is cured in conventional methods and the AAC is through Steam Curing, which makes the Compressive strength final in AAC , but CLC like normal concrete strength increases over time.

CAN YOU SUPPLY DURABLOC ON TIME?

The production capacity is 15,000 cum per annum / 1,500 blocks per day and we are in a position to supply and support project of any size anywhere.

WHAT IS THE SOUND REDUCTION INDEX OF DURABLOC ?

Durabloc blocks provide excellent sound absorption with a STC (Sound Transmission Class) rating of 44. Sound reduction index for Durabloc is 45 db for 200 mm thick walls.

CAN WE TAKE ELECTRICAL CONDUITS OR DRILL A NAIL ON THE SURFACE?

Yes. You can do. The workability is good.

SHOULD WE SOAK AND MAKE THE BLOCK WET BEFORE USAGE?

No. Soaking and wetting of the CLC  are not needed. Slight wetting is sufficient.

HOW SHOULD WE LAY THE CLC?

The laying of block may be started either at the corners first or it may be started from one end and proceed to the other direction. The first course of the cellular block masonry shall be laid with greater care, making sure that it is properly aligned, leveled and plumbed, as this may assist the mason in laying succeeding courses to obtain a straight and truly vertical wall. The joint thickness shall be 10mm.

HOW TO CUT THE CLC BLOCK?

Do not use chisel and Hammer for chase cutting. Use saw or any mechanized cutting tool for cutting.

HOW TO USE MORTAR IN CLC BLOCK?

The mortar shall not be spread so much ahead of the actual laying of the units that it tends to stiffen and lose its plasticity there by resulting in poor bond.
Lay 10 mm thick cement mortar uniformly over bed.
Wet on all sides by using a tray filled with 20/25 mm water and place them one by one and press it firmly to have proper bond.

Fill the joints between the blocks before laying the mortar. Two 10 mm square rods can be placed on both the sides of the block to obtain uniform joint.
Ensure all the surfaces of the block which come in contact with cement mortar are wet to have proper bonding.

IS DURABLOC FIRE-RESISTANT?

Durabloc has high fire resistance rating of atleast 4 hrs and more.

WHAT ARE THE COST BENEFITS OF USING DURABLOC CLC BLOCKS ?

Durabloc Blocks reduces the dead load significantly and also ensures less usage of steel and concrete. It requires lesser number of joints, which results in saving of jointing material, time and labour.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF CLC BLOCKS OVER OTHER BUILDING MATERIALS?

CLC is lightweight, highly fire resistant, has excellent thermal insulation value, is decay and rot proof, has good sound reduction properties and is cost effective. CLC performs well in seismic situations and high wind areas. Building with CLC can reduce the quantity of materials used and labor needed to build a building.
